research of Benefits

In 1854 “Pharmaceutical journal of Provincial Transactions,” doctors stated that the properties of the olive tree deserved more extensive investigation. In the early 1900’s, a bitter compounds was found in the leaves of certain olive trees, called “Oleuropein”. This compound was determined to be part of the olive tree’s powerful disease resistance structure.

In 1995, through independent scientific research, success was finally achieved by East Park Research, opening the way for clinical applications of this natural olive leaf extract. Thus, East Park Research’s d-Lenolate® was born and was awarded a patent extraction.

In the late 1990’s, Dr. Morton Walker, a specialist in health care sciences referred to as orthomolecular nutrition and holistic medicine, did an extensive investigation on the amazing scope and healing properties of olive leaves.

His investigation resulted in his book “Nature’s Antibiotic, Olive Leaf Extract” published in 1997. More information on Dr. Walker's book can be found under Health Related Publications, and copies are available through our Bookstore.

While the production process remains East Park Research proprietary, what can be revealed are the actual olive leaf components which have Remedial Properties."

In January 1999, Dr. Bernard J. Mizock evaluated the efficacy of East Park Research’s d-Lenolate® product for the control of Candida hypersensitivity syndrome. Thirty subjects participated in a double-blinded, randomized placebo-controlled study for 60 days.

At both the beginning and conclusion of the investigation these patients underwent basal metabolic panels, complete blood counts, and the recording of Somatomedin-C levels. They each took 6 capsules per day of either the d-Lenolate® or placebo. There were no modifications to the diet or exercise programs of the participants during the study period, and no additional nutritional supplements were prescribed.

He concluded East Park‘s d-Lenolate® reduced the symptoms of chronic yeast infections by greater than 50% within 60 days of its use with no apparent side effects.

d-Lenolate® was again used by Dr. Mizock in a second study to record the modifications of symptoms related to arthritic symptoms. Using the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Arthritis (WOMAC) index, scores were obtained during the period September 2000 to January 2001
at baseline, 20, 40 and 60 days. No changes were made in the patients’ current diet or medications.

Dr. Mizock concluded that East park d-Lenolate® improves the symptoms of arthritis. The effects were first noted at 20 days, and reach a maximum effect of 32% improvement at 40 days.

In 2002, the chief of Medicine at Budapest General Hospital noted that his experience with fighting infection by prescribing vegetarian capsules of Olive leave Leaf Extract had reached a success rate of 90 percent and had been using olive leaf extract before resorting to any antibiotics.

In 2000, clinical study conducted by Dr. Masatoshi Kaneko and his colleagues on the effects of dietary supplement, d-Lenolate was investigated in terms of the restoration of leukocytopenia and the protection against E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans. The result indicated that d-Lenolate contributed to the enhancement and restoration of leukocyte levels to normal and provided protection against experimental infections.

In 2001, relationship between depressions of early protection against influenza virus infection was also investigated using d-Lenolate with a positive result as published in the Orthomolecular Organization website.

In conjunction with East Park’s continuing effort to document the strength and effectiveness of d-Lenolate, in-vitro experiment of d-Lenolate against anthrax was conducted. d-Lenolate demonstrated a dose-dependent inhibition against B.anthracis resulting in a preliminary conclusion of antibacterial activity against anthrax.
