The taste and smell of the holidays

When some think of Thanksgiving, they may remember the taste of that secret family recipe. And for many, it doesn’t feel like Christmas if there isn’t the smell of a fresh-cut pine or fir tree wafting throughout the house.

During the holidays sense memories like those are especially important, which reminds me of a reader-submitted column published in the May-June 2008 edition of the Saturday Evening Post.
